The Day Crossing Farm, by visual artist Marie Brett, is now available to view for free online.
The show, commissioned by the Cork Midsummer Festival, was a multi-sensory art with live performance in a secret Cork City location, exploring issues of human trafficking, modern-day-slavery and drug farming.
The work involved considerable research informed by people with lived experience of trafficking and forced labour, human justice, advocacy and support organisations, scholars, young people, students and gardeners and was produced in collaboration with filmmaker Linda Curtin, composer/sound designer Peter Power, and lighting designer Sarah Jane Shiels. The work spanned two years, was part of a 10 country organisational network ‘BePART’ and was funded by The Arts Council, the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, Cork Midsummer Festival and Cork City Council.
